Details of Visioneer Mobility,HP Compaq 8510P Battery

Design

Measuring 11.5 x 2.8 x 2 inches and weighing 1.4 pounds, the Visioneer Mobility scanner is slightly smaller than the Visioneer Strobe 500 (11.7 x 2.8 x 3.3, 2.2 pounds), but it lacks the bulky docking station of the latter. The Mobility's length means it won't fit in any but the largest of handbags, but it will easily slip into a backpack or any piece of carry-on luggage.(HP Compaq 8510P Battery)

We like the sleek but simple design of the Mobility. The top is a glossy white plastic, while the underside is matte black. Combined with its long and thin dimensions, the black-and-white color scheme lends the portable scanner a fashionable, if not high-end, look. Some might not like that the Visioneer logo and the product name are located in the center of the scanner's lid.(HP ProBook 6545B Battery)

The Visioneer Mobility has two buttons: one for powering the device on and off, and one for toggling between the scanner's three modes. Both buttons are located on the Mobility's glossy white top. Around back are an SD card slot, a miniUSB port, and a USB port. Visioneer includes a 2GB SD card with the scanner. While this is helpful, frequent scanners will need to invest in more storage space.(hp elitebook 8740w battery)

Performance

The Mobility scans items between 2 x 2 inches and 8.5 x 11.7 inches. The scanner offers three output modes: black and white or color PDFs at 300 dpi, or color JPEGs at 300 dpi. By comparison, the Visioneer Strobe 500 can output scans to BMP, JPG, PDF, sPDF, and TIFF formats. The Mobility scanner can only take one sheet of paper at a time, which means scanning longer documents could be an ordeal. There's also no duplexer, so double-sided pages will need to be scanned twice. Visioneer says the Mobility can scan approximately 300 color 8.2 x 11.7-inch pages per battery charge.(hp elitebook 8540p battery)

In our hands-on time with the Mobility, it operated smoothly. It took 8 seconds to scan a 8.5 x 11 document and 9.5 seconds to scan an 8.5 x 11 color photo. Scanning a business card took just 6 seconds, which is on a par with the Strobe 500, and the scanner had no trouble detecting items of any size.(toshiba pa3356u-1brs battery)

Quality varied depending on the document scanned. Black-and-white text pages came out accurately. A color PDF scan of the Visioneer instruction manual had slightly muted, bluer tones than the original, but offered plenty of detail. Our scanned business card contained the correct colors, though we noticed some streaking. Scanning images in black and white was another story: A color image of a car on a highway was almost impossible to make out, as the scanned copy came out mostly black. Scanning this same picture in color gave us much better results; the image was much more detailed, though the colors appeared slightly washed out.(toshiba pa3356u-1bas battery)

Verdict

The $199 Visioneer Mobility scanner lives up to its name: At 1.4 pounds, it can fit in your carry-on to serve all your on-the-go scanning needs. Moreover, the Mobility is extremely easy to use, with no software required and only three modes to choose from. Those who need to scan full-size photos or longer documents will be better served by the Visioneer Strobe 500 ($349), which includes a duplexer and an optional dock with a paper feed. But for those on the go who just want a hard copy of simple items such as a business card, receipt, or magazine article, the Mobility is a great choice.(hp presario cq72 battery)

Details of Toshiba Portege R835-P56X,Dell Inspiron 1525 Battery

Design

The Portege R835 looks nearly identical to its predecessor, and we're not complaining. The chassis is still made of magnesium alloy, complete with a handsome dark blue lid. Although they're plastic, the chrome hinges are a nice accent, as are the smoky gray touchpad buttons. When we picked it up, the Portege R385 didn't feel as sturdy as the aluminum MacBook Air or the Samsung Series 9 (which is made of even stronger duralumin), but this is still a fairly durable design for the money.( Dell Inspiron 1525 Battery)

As with the R700, the R835's durability extends beyond its magnesium finish. Toshiba used a honeycomb rib structure for the base and palm rest for extra resilience. You also get hard drive protection and a spill-resistant keyboard.( Dell Inspiron 6400 Battery )

Weighing 3.2 pounds, the Portege R835 is one of the lightest laptops you'll find with both a 13-inch display and a built-in DVD drive. While not as thin as ultraportables that eschew optical drives, the 0.7-1.1-inch profile makes this machine easy to slip into a bag. ( Dell Inspiron 1525 Battery)

Webcam and Face Recognition

According to our Skype video caller, the R835's 0.3MP webcam delivered a bright and mostly clear picture. She also noted that the sound was plenty loud. You can also use this webcam with the built-in Face Recognition software. The system correctly identified our mug after a few minutes, but having to move our head around to log in was annoying. We'd skip this option.(HP Pavilion DV6500 Battery)

Keyboard and Touchpad

Because the keyboard sits between the space for the battery and the large touchpad, the keys on the Portege R835 aren't quite as large as what you'll find on competing ultraportables. They're shorter than those on Toshiba's own 13-inch T235, making the keyboard feel cramped. The keys also gave too little feedback when typing, which made it more difficult to tell when we'd successfully hit a target. Nevertheless, we acclimated to the layout in about 30 minutes and typed at our usual speed as we wrote this review. We'd really like to see Toshiba add a backlit keyboard, like on the Samsung Series 9.(dell vostro 1400 battery)

Two small dedicated buttons sit above the keyboard on the right side. One launches the Eco Utility for saving power, and the other engages Intel's WiDi 2.0 technology for streaming video to a big-screen TV. (More on that technology below.) (VGP-BPS13)

Measuring 3.3 x 2 inches, the R835's touchpad isn't as ginormous as those on the Samsung Series 9 (3.9 x 2.7) or the 13-inch MacBook Air (4.3 x 3 inches), but it's still plenty large for smooth navigation. With the older Portege R700, the cursor sometimes jumped around when our palm accidentally brushed up against the touchpad, but we didn't experience that issue this machine.(VGP-BPS13A/Q)

In our tests, pinch-to-zoom and rotate gestures worked fine on the Portege R835. Plus, the Synaptics touchpad lets you perform neat tricks. We configured a three-finger press to launch Google Chrome and activated three-finger swiping (great for flicking through photos). You can also deactivate the touchpad with a button right beneath the space bar. (VGP-BPS13A/B)

Not a fan of touchpads with integrated buttons? Then you'll be pleased with the R835. The two dedicated mouse buttons worked well, whether we were opening apps or selecting text.(VGP-BPS13/B)

Details of Duracell myGrid Charging Pad,Akku Dell Vostro 2510

Verdict

The $79 Duracell myGrid Charging Pad conveniently eliminates the clutter of having multiple chargers, but between the complicated setup Akku Vostro 1520 and long charge time, serious gadget freaks won't be all that impressed.

Performance

On our tests, the myGrid Charging Pad took a long 5 hours Akku Vostro 1400 and 37 minutes to fully charge our completely drained HTC Evo Shift 4G. By contrast, we were able to do the same in a much shorter 3:38 using the phone's standard HTC AC adapter
(from the same power outlet), and just 2:30 using the Powermat
2X Portable Mat & Powercube.(Akku Dell Vostro 2510)

Design

The myGrid Charging Pad from Duracell is essentially an ultra-thin square metal plate with a black cylinder running along one edge. At the base of the cylinder is the power cord, which plugs into an outlet. Meant primarily for desk duty, the entire setup measures 8.5 x 6.8 x 0.8 inches and weighs 4 ounces. Still, it's not unreasonable to take the myGrid Charging Pad along on trips, considering it can charge up to four devices at once--sans wires.(Akku HP Pavilion DM4 )

Setting up phones to charge, however, is a little tricky. The Charging Pad comes with five different charging tips, two miniUSB and two microUSB (each set of opposing orientation), plus one proprietary Nokia connector. Tips are inserted into phone ports, to which is attached an arm that clips to the back of handsets using adhesive. Once connected, metal studs on the clip's opposite side make contact with the Charging Pad's metallic surface, creating a circuit.(Akku HP Pavilion DM4T)

It's not exactly an elegant arrangement, and the bulky clip detracts from a phone's otherwise sleek design. That said, clips can be placed anywhere there's room on the Charging Pad, and a magnetic clank along with a blue indicator light definitively lets you know you're charging. The Charging Pad comes with just one clip, but a Power Clip and Connector kit (holding one clip) retails for $34.99.(Akku HP CQ42 )

Heat

Maybe it's because of the new processor, but the R835 doesn't get as warm as its predecessor. After playing Hulu at full screen for 15 minutes, the touchpad registered 86 degrees, the area between the G and H keys reached 88 degrees, and the bottom of the underside measured 96 degrees. The R700 was about as cool on top but reached 103 degrees on the bottom. The only spot where the R835 got slightly uncomfortable on our lap was the bottom-left side near the vent, which registered 102 after our Hulu test.(Akku thinkpad T60)

Want to paying 3X,please sign up,Akku HP nw9440

News Corp., Scripps Networks, Akku Lenovo thinkpad T500 and Viacom claim the free TWCable TV for iPad app represents a contract violation and have told Time Warner to stop streaming their channels because it’s not covered under the current licensing agreement. Apparently, wanting to take that episode of The Daily Show into the bathroom should command a premium on top of the $75 subscribers already pay per month on average for TV. And did I mention that to get this app you also need to be paying for Internet service? Between cable Akku Lenovo thinkpad T400 and Internet, I fork over $173 per month. How many times should we have to pony up for the same content viewed at the same address? Um, how about once?!

For now, the Time Warner app only streams live TV, but the cable provider promises to add support for video on demand and the ability to set your DVR on the go. Streaming DVR playback could be an option down the road, but not right now. According to The New York Times, Cablevision’s upcoming app will be much more robust (read: threatening), transplanting “every existing channel Akku Lenovo thinkpad T410 and video-on-demand option to the iPad.” Variety says Cablevision’s app will also let subscribers access content stored on their DVRs. Verizon and Comcast are also working on streaming apps for the iPad, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they put those efforts on hold when Time Warner gets taken to court.

If cable and TV providers attempt to make such services mobile to extend beyond your abode, they could seriously erode revenue from premium services such as Amazon, Hulu Plus, iTunes, Akku Lenovo thinkpad T61 and Netflix, which, in turn, could impact the bottom lines of movie and TV studios. But the way Time Warner sees it, its app is a way of keeping the money flowing to the channel owners at a time when more customers are contemplating cutting the cord. I agree, but I’m not willing to pay more for this convenience within the home. If cable Akku Lenovo thinkpad R61 and satellite providers want to tack on a true portability tax, similar to what MLB does, then I might be willing to pay a little extra.

In other licensing disagreement news, this week Amazon ruffled more than a few feathers in the music biz by rolling out a new digital locker service. Users can upload tracks they’ve purchased Akku Lenovo thinkpad R60 and then stream them via the new Amazon Cloud Player for web or Android. You get 5GB of storage for free, but if you purchase an album from Amazon MP3, that allotment gets bumped to 20GB. What’s the big deal? Amazon didn’t secure additional music licenses (money) from the music labels. I’m not a legal expert, but I don’t understand why more licenses would be required for something I already own.

This is what Amazon told paidContent: “We do not need a license to store music in Cloud Drive. The functionality of saving MP3s to Cloud Drive is the same as if a customer were to save their music to an external hard drive or even iTunes.” The labels see things differently, of course. That’s because users can re-download tracks to multiple devices without any additional charges. Meanwhile, both Apple Akku Lenovo thinkpad T60 and Google are reportedly readying music locker services of their own, and word is that at least Apple is negotiating to obtain additional licenses.

Google To Tighten Control Over Android Juggernaut

Folks have lamented the dangers of Android fragmentation
for years, Akku Lenovo thinkpad T60P and Google seems to be doing something about it. First, it was the move to delay the Honeycomb source code release to developers, and now Google sources close to Business Week say the company is enforcing “non-fragmentation” partnership clauses to put the kibosh on unauthorized Android tweaks.

Understandably this has manufacturers Akku Lenovo thinkpad R60E and software companies hot and bothered, with even Facebook allegedly confirming complaints to Google about its micromanaged oversight of a rumored Facebook handset running on Android
.

Fears of lax Google policing of Android are justified, especially with malware lurking within its app market, Akku Lenovo thinkpad R61I which forced the company to take action. Still, despite all the fuss over who gets hands on time with Android’s innards ahead of release, there are success stories, such as the HTC Sense UI, which has some nice features to offer. Still, some folks prefer a clean Android smart phone experience. We’ll have to see how it all shakes out in the coming weeks.

Details of Samsung Series 9 ,dell latitude e5500 battery

Ports

You'll find the few ports on the Series 9 along the edges, rolled up into little pull-down drawers so as not to mar the elegant lines. Pull down the left drawer to access a Gigabit Ethernet port (an adapter is included), mini HDMI, hp elitebook 8740w battery and (chargeable) USB 3.0 port. Pull down the right side drawer for a combo headphone/mic jack, USB 2.0 port, and a microSD card slot. (We'd prefer a full-size one.) The curve on the back edges house the power jack on the left and a lock slot on the right.

Touchpad

The touchpad on the 13-inch Series 9 is just a bit smaller than the MacBook Air's (3.9 x 2.7 vs. 4.3 x 3 inches) but it offers a smooth, matte surface free of friction. It's one of the closest in both feel hp elitebook 8540p battery and functionality to Apple's touchpads, but it does have some drawbacks.

toshiba pa3356u-1bas battery who use touchpads with two hands may find it frustrating that the Series 9 sometimes mistakes leaving one finger on the bottom left click area for a desire to activate a multitouch gesture, such as zoom. Plus, the cursor sometimes jumped around when we had a finger resting there. We rarely, if ever, encounter these issues with MacBooks. But if you use one hand to navigate you won't have this problem.

The gestures available on the 13-inch Series 9 go beyond the standard two-finger scroll toshiba pa3356u-1brs battery and pinch/zoom found on many Windows notebooks. There's a three-finger flick for navigating within apps such as the photo viewer and browser. The four-finger gestures further attempt to mimic Mac OS X functionality: Swipe down to minimize everything and view the desktop and swipe up to activate the Aero 3D window manager. Swiping right presents a simple box listing all programs hp presario cq72 battery and windows, while swiping left toggles back and forth between the last two open windows.

Design

The Series 9 is a beautifully crafted machine. It's made mostly from a metal called duralumin, which up until now has only been used in aircraft construction. Samsung claims it's twice as strong as aluminum, Lenovo ideapad u550 battery and at 2.88 pounds, it does feel a hair lighter than the closest competition, the MacBook Air (2.9). Not only is it light, the Series 9 feels sturdier than the Air, especially if you pick it up by its corner. We also noted that the hinge is less fluid on the Series 9. You may not be able to open the lid with just one finger, but the display won't flop back when you carry it, either.

Unlike the Air, the Series 9 isn't all metal on the outside. Some pieces of the deck hp envy 17 battery and the base of the display connected to the hinge are high-grade, glossy plastic. It melds well with the duralumin style-wise, but is prone to fingerprint smudges in some areas.

Both notebooks are about the same size--12.9 x 8.9 x 0.62-0.64 inches (Series 9) and 12.8 x 8.9 x 0.11-0.68 inches (Air)--though Samsung managed to make its offering a bit slimmer at its thickest point while still adding a dash of flair. Unlike the Air, the edges don't taper in a straight line, but include a little arch hp g72 battery and curve reminiscent of the wave design found on the Samsung NF310 and SF510.

Under the hood, aesthetic similarities to the MacBook Air abound, including an island-style keyboard hp g62 battery and large touchpad, which might be mistaken for Apple's design work if they weren't in black. Though the design is minimalist, Samsung included a few extra touches, such as blue LED indicators in the keyboard and on the deck as well as the chrome-outlined power button on the upper right.

Beyond the actual notebook, Samsung also paid close attention to how the Series 9 is packaged. The box is also minimalist but elegant, right away giving owners the feeling they've purchased something high-end.
